Bahamas Field Trip

I lead a field trip to San Salvador, Bahamas (Gerace Research Centre) during even year Fall semesters to examine modern carbonate environments. The trip includes much snorkeling to a variety of patch reefs and a float down a tidal channel during ebb tide. Students collect and analyze sediments from beach profiles, Thallassia and sand flats, tidal channel and ebb deltas to compare the grain size spectrums and associated varying energy regimes.
