About Me

Hi, I'm Matt. In 2023 I graduated with a B.A. in both philosophy and computer science from Macalester College. Now I'm doing my Masters in philosophy at Texas Tech. My general philosophical interests are in the philosophy of science, metaphysics, and epistemology. I am specifically interested in the natural kind debate and the intersection between philosophy and computer science.

I'm from small-town Wisconsin, and it's painfully obvious. And I have very sterotypical nerd hobbies. I'm a recovering theater kid, but I still sing and play a few instruments. With that, you have a clean summary of my entire personality.

Important Stuff

Whoo-hoo! Here's the important, academic stuff I should include:

  • Essay on the mind-independence criterion for natural kinds, published by the undergraduate journal Aporia.
  • Essay (not published, but I like it quite a lot) about natural kinds in mathematics.
  • Essay on externalism (also not published).
  • CV. It's still a little unprofessional looking, but cut me some slack!
