The CRM Laboratory is a highly interdisciplinary research group at the nexus of robotics, engineering mechanics, and health sciences. Our students are expected to perform cutting-edge research in engineering, integrative health sciences and publish in top field-specific journals and interdisciplinary journals. PhD Opening (Spring 2024 or later):
We are looking for two fully funded PhD students to study on medical robotics and computer assisted-surgery including (1) soft robotics for minimally invasive surgery, and (2) computer-aided surgical planning and guidance. The positions are expected to start in Spring 2024 or later. We are also looking for multiple MS and BS students to work in the following projects respectively: (1) electromagnetic systems for actuating miniature robots: need knowledge/experience with mechanical design, micro-controllers, and C/C++/Python; and (2) Robotic manipulation of surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgery: need knowledge/experience with programming of Universal Robots, and ROS.
